Once we finished the simple breakfast from the Legend Resort, all of us heading to Cherating. Yes! We were going for the Cherating River's Cruise. The bus stop at the parking area, and we walked for about 200 meter to the jetty under the Cherating's sun...nice! :)

Part of our team...

We were directed to this jetty and it's belong to Hafiz Cherating Activities (N4.12713 E103.39124) which provide all kind of river activities to the visitors.

Before the river cruise, we attended the short safety briefing...and everyone was excited to get into the boat...

The guy who given the safety briefing...

I was attracted by the scenery of the river especially on the sunny day! The river is well maintained and Clean!

And our boat below...

Once everyone ready with the life jackets, we got into the boat one-by-one...well, we need total of 4 boats for the ride. :)

The young ladies (wa-wa) on the same boat...:)

I like this pink canoe!

Everyone was busy taking photos once on the boat, same as our organizer - Mr Anthony. :)

The journey started...
The boatman spoke very fluent English and provide us many useful information while on the boat...we cruise very slow and enjoyed along the river...

The nature scenery of Cherating River was marvelous!
Camera shutter's sound can be heard almost everywhere...let me show you some photos...

I like the way they built their houses along the river bank...I wish I can have one too! :)

After awhile, we passed by the Famous pub in Cherating - The Little Bali pub and Bistro which is crowded on every evening...

The mangrove trees and the roots...

We met a guy that he just caught the crab while we passed by...

After a while, our boats went into another small river named - Belat River (N4.13782 E103.39514). The atmosphere was really quite and calm, I felt peaceful...

Entering Belat River of Cherating River...

There were many mangrove snakes, squirrels, monkeys and some mangrove crabs, fishes at the Belat River...the roots of the mangrove tree is different (photo below) from what I experienced at Kukup Island, Johor.

The roots of the mangrove trees look like wave...

There was a interesting part within our journey...we were shocked by the mangrove snake on the tree while the boat approching...:)

There was a mangrove snake on the tree!

And the expression from our teammates....! :)

"Snake on top of you!" We shouted...:)

The Mangrove snake in black and yellow stripes hiding behind the leafs...

The camera man was from TV2...

While we on the way back, the boatman speed up the boat to the estuary of Cherating river...

When the boat speed up, it created a nice scene of the wave...

The total river cruise took about an hour, we were enjoyed the cruise very much! It was a nice nature trip for us at Cherating.

Beside the river cruise, you can have 'fireflies watching, fishing, river to sea, snorkeling at the island trips and river canoing' from the Hafiz River Activities Center. You can find out more information from the Legend Resort Cherating.

Firefly at Kota Tinggi, Johor.

This is one of the Tourist Attraction at Kota Tinggi Town.
It's located at the Johor River bank after the bridge. Once you pass the bridge of K.Tinggi, turn right and find your way to the riverbank (N1°43.588' E103°53.992'). You will notice the Jetty looks like the picture below.....

If my memory serve me right, the boat ride is 45 minutes (after 8pm) and MYR15.00 per person (I forgot the fare for children, sorry). It's about 5-10 minutes from the Jetty to the Firefly area. The boatman also is your tour guide. He will explain everything about the Firefly and also the rules & regulation.

I can't provide the pictures about the Firefly because of my poor photography skill....Apologies....

While on the way back, the boatman will stop at one of the tree which is home of the OWL. Before the boat reach the Jetty while on the way back, he will make an u-turn under the Kota Tinggi Bridge and surprise you with FULL of Swallow bird nest! Yes, it's all under the bridge.
Then you will end the journey of the boat ride.

The Rules :-
1) Do not catch the Firefly (You can temporary catch it, but have to let it go before the boat reach the jetty)
2) Do not use your camera 'Flash' (because you will "kill" the firefly)

During the Johor Flood on 2006, the boat owner had volunteery make use of his boats for Rescue purpose. Kudo's to the Boss!!

Estuary of Danga River (Sg. Danga), Johor Bahru

This place where I'm standing (N1°28.905' E103°42.737') is located at the back of the Danga View Apartment. It's also just beside Danga Bay of Johor Bahru.

There's a new bridge under construction now at the place I took this pictures. Once it's ready, the road from Danga Bay will be connect to the Iskandar Malaysia Development at Gelang Patah. The bridge will really cut down the traveling time from JB town to Gelang Patah.

Opposite of Danga Bay

Facing south, behind the trees.....there's Singapore.

The purpose of visiting this area is to capture some nice photos before the nature GONE. You can see from the pictures, it's really calm & peaceful for the moment....hmm...will all this beautiful scene remain after the bridge complete or gone forever....?!

Tebrau River Cleaning Project, Johor Bahru

10th May 2008
I wasn't aware about this till my brother told me about it. I wondered there's no banner for public awareness.

When I rush to the location (where at the back of Bayu Puteri 3 Apartment), the show had over! And I saw the only awareness was a A3 size board standing 1 meter up beside the road??! Only the peoples who stayed around that area will aware of this event.
I was told that the public respond was perfect!! Because.......everyone who came, they will enjoy free foods & drinks!! Hmm.....what do you think?

The rubbish issue were discussed before on this thread. I am too excited (give a hand too!) because we going to have a clean river around us! End up......it's just because the free foods & drinks attract the public. I manage to snap some photos there......
The rubbish still there but the foods & drinks already finished......

The last junior group

View of the Tebrau River

They took the chances to cruise along the river

The only Survivor along the river bank

Then we accidentally found this....

And decided to find out what is this house floating on the water...??!

The entrance

Oh! It's a small Fisherman Club

We stepped in and have a chat with the fisherman over there.....and realize this is the rubbish collected!

The marine.....

The surrounding....

The mangrove at the other side of the river

Yes, I am disappointed.......hmm.....let's hope for better tomorrow!
